The EOTD monitors pressure/vacuum and reports status and location from the rear of the train to the Head of Train Device (HOTD).

Connected directly to the train’s brake pipe, the EMS Industries End Of Train Device (EOTD) is a portable device that is connected to the buffer of the last wagon of the train.

The EOTD monitors the pressure/vacuum and periodically reports the status as well as its current GPS location to the HOTD.
